The author summons up not only his childhood but also the dawn of his career of wandering through the land of the Slovak literature. Besides depicting his work of a writer and his memories, he wrote essays, private speeches, obituaries of many important figures of the Slovak artistic spheres. He commemorates painters, sculptors, ceramists and all the people he met not only in Bratislava, but in his precious Modra as well. The book equally features interviews with certain politicians, such as Šaňo Mach, but also with people persecuted for their views and opinions. The book truly conveys an interesting view of the Slovak literature classic and writer on the life as it is. The book was published on the day of the 80 th anniversary of the writer’s birth. The book features pen-and- ink drawings of the artist Dušan Nagel.
