Certain writers gain public recognition only after their death. Only after they are no longer here will we find out that there is an empty slot in the world of writers. Especially in the case of the children’s books writers. One of them was Jozef Repko, who won the Children’s literature prize Trojruža only after his death. His book The Curse of the Green Flame combines the genre of detective stories with horror, to an appropriate extent in a suitable amount. In a way that only Jozef Repko could realize. A group of 12-year- olds who crave thrill, appear in a tornado of dangerous situations which they cannot seem to escape. Moreover, the narrative is set in Slovakia, in a mysterious castle with a mysterious demonic object which brings bad luck and – curses. Just admit that even now you are tempted to take a closer look at the mystery.
